May 29th, 2010
- Todd O'Neill is set to be featured on GAC's "Get to Know" segments in July. His single "Somethin' with Some Attitude" will hit radio shortly.
- A life size half bronze statue titled Good Ride Cowboy, celebrating the rodeo and music life of Chris LeDoux, will be unveiled June 19th in Chris LeDoux Park in Kaycee, WY.
- Rockie Lynne will release his new project, Songs for Soldiers, on June 1st. A third of the album proceeds will go to troop-related causes.
- The Lost Trailers are disbanding following their final touring commitments.
- Miranda Lambert's 3rd Annual Cause for the Paws event, held last weekend, raised $91,000.
- Diamond Rio raised $137,000 for Big Brothers-Sisters at the Nashville Marathon last weekend.
- Willie Nelson will have a street named after him in Austin, TX. Willie Nelson Blvd will be installed along Second Street.

- Randy Houser's sophomore CD, They Call Me Cadillac, is set for release on September 14th. He will also appear on The Waylon Project performing "I'm a Ramblin' Man," which will be out later this year.
- Taylor Swift has won a couple more awards. The young superstar was awarded BMI's Pop Song of the Year award, which makes her the youngest artist to win the award. She also received the Artist of the Year award from the National Association of Recocording Merchandisers (NARM).
- Craig Morgan has become a spokesperson for Not Alone, an organization that empowers warriors and families dealing with combat stress through training, education, counseling, and support.
- On Tuesday, Chris Young will release a 3-song acoustic EP called Voices. The EP contains Chris' version of John Anderson's "Swingin'," Keith Whitley's "I'm Over You," and Vern Gosdin's "Chiseled in Stone."

- Taylor Swift is the next COVERGIRL. She has just finished shooting the first advertisements for a new line of luxury products. The ads will debut in January 2011.
- Sammy Kershaw is running for the Republican nomination for Lt. Governor of Louisianna.

- Stephen Cochran has reached out to veterans across the US with special CD/DVD sets featuring the new song "Hope" and a video that highlights the accomplishments of Veteran's Affairs during the past 85 years.
- On Wednesday, April 21st the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out. Country winners included:
- Country Album of the Year - The Reason (Diamond Rio)
- Long Form Music Video - A Gospel Journey (The Oak Ridge Boys)
- Bluegrass Recorded Song - When We Fly (songwriters: Ty Herndon, Joel Lindsay, and Wayne Haun)
- David Allan Coe married Kimberly Hastings on Saturday, April 17th.

- The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music awards were held tonight. Winners included:

- With his latest hit, "I Gotta Get to You," George Strait has become the first artist in Billboard charts history to have 30 years of consecutive Top 10 hits.
- Hank Williams has been posthumously awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his lifetime achievement as a musician praising Hank for "his craftsmanship as a songwriter who expressed universal feelings with poignant simplicity and played a pivotal role in transforming country music into a major musical and cultural force in American life."
- Fans of Luke Bryan can enter a contest to go Cross Country with the artist. Two grand pize winners will meet Luke and ride with him on a tour bus throughout the midwest. You can learn more about the contest at http://liveatlonghorn.com.
- Alan Jackson received his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame on Friday, April 16th.
- Ty Herndon will release a new inspirational album called Journey On on June 8th.

- Blake Shelton and Bomshel will appear on The Price Is Right on April 16th on CBS.
- Shania Twain will appear in her own TV show, Why Not? With Shania Twain, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. The first episode is expected to air on January 1st, 2011.
- Dierks Bentley's new CD, Up on the Ridge, is set for release on June 8th.
- Clay Walker's new CD, She Won't Be Lonely Long, is set for release on June 8th.
- Allison Moorer and Steve Earl welcomed their first child, John Henry, on Monday, April 5th.
- Keith Urban received the Jim Reeves International Award from the ACM on Tuesday, April 6th for his efforts in spreading country music internationally.

- Marty Raybon will release his new album, At His Best, on April 6th.
- Jo Dee Messina will release three EPs this year starting with Unmistakable: Love, which is due out on April 27th. Unmistakable: Drive and Unmistakable: Inspiration are expected later this year.

- Luke Bryan and Emily West will appear in an episode of the new season of Celebrity Apprentice, which began this past Sunday, March 14th.
- GMV Nashville has added two Lane Brody titles, On the Wings of Songs and Familiar Places, to their online catalog. The albums can be purchased at the GMV Nashville site.
- Colt Ford will release his second CD, Chicken and Biscuits on April 20th. Randy Houser, Joe Nichols, Josh Gracin, Darryl Worley, James Otto, Kevin Fowler, and others make appearances on the CD.
- Keith Whitley, Patty Loveless, Steve Wariner, and John Michael Montgomery will be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame on April 7th.
- Dierks Bentley is taking his bluegrass album (Up on the Ridge, due out this summer) on the road starting April 21st.

- On March 25th, Jamey Johnson, Mac McAnally, and Mac Davis will be inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
- In August, Viking will publish Rosanne Cash's memoir, Composed.
- (Aus) Adam Brand has won the CMC Oz Artist of the Year award. This is his fourth win and so far he is the only artist who has won the award since its debut in 2007.

- Luke Bryan has put together a funny video for his ACM campaign for Top New Solo Vocalist. You can view the video here.
- Darius Rucker will host his first annual Darius and Friends concert on June 7th. The charity concert will raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®.
- This week, Joel Warren is included in Country Weekly's Listen Up feature with his debut single "Leavin' Lubbock."
- Dolly Parton's new retail store, Treasures and Trinkets, opens this Friday in Nashville.
- Dierks Bentley will release his first bluegrass album this summer. The album is called Up on the Ridge and includes guests Miranda Lambert, Alison Kraus, the Del McCoury Band, Chris Thile and the Punch, Tim O'Brien, and Sam Bush.
- Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town welcomed their first child, Elijah Dylan, into the world on Friday, March 5th.
- Clint Black and Mac Davis were among the inductees into the Texas Heritage Songwriters' Association in Austin, TX on Sunday, March 7th.

- Mindy McCready will release her new single, "I Want a Man" to radio on March 29th. Her new CD, I'm Still Here, is set to be released on March 23rd.
- On March 9th, Matt Kennon will release a digital-only EP, The Call. The EP includes three songs - the title track, "The Man I Used to Be," and "Some People Piss Me Off."
- Th CD collection The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum Presents Sunday in the Country has been released. It includes twelve inspiring hits from artists including Keith Urban, Josh Turner, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, and others.
- Gary Allan will send his new single, "Get Off on the Pain" to radio on March 15th, a week after his new album of the same name is released.
- Jimmy Buffet and Zac Brown will be the next performers on CMT Crossroads. The episode debuts on Friday, March 19th.

- Today, the Texas Tornados released their new CD, Esta Bueno.
- Susan Hickman released her first national single, "Hell Still Ain't Frozen Over," to radio this week.
- Luke Bryan has released a new Spring Break EP, Spring Break 2...Hangover Edition. The EP includes three new self-penned songs, "Wild Weekend," "Cold Been Drinker," and "I'm Hungover."
- The Grascals will release their new CD, The Famous Lefty Flynn's on March 30th.

- Brooks and Dunn received the Career Achievement Award from the Country Music DJ and Radio Hall of Fame on Tuesday, February 23rd.
- On April 19th, the Oak Ridge Boys will receive the Southern Gospel Music Guild (SGMG) Presiden'ts Honor at the SGMG Harmony Honors Celebration Concert.
- Dolly Parton's new retail store, Trinkets and Treasures, will open March 12th in historic downtown Nashville.
- (Aus) This week, Connie Kis Andersen won Best Female Artist at the Western Australia Country Music awards.

- Darius Rucker joins Musicians on Call (MOC) on February 24th when he appears at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System's VA Hospital. He will also give an intimate performace at the Hard Rock Cafe Nashville on March 3rd, which will also benefit MOC.
- On March 6th and 7th, Randy Kohrs will be the band leader for the house band for the Children's Charity telethon in Des Moines, Iowa. Randy has been involved with the event since 1993.
- The Country Music Hall of Fame has inducted four new members. They are: Jimmy Dean, Ferlin Husky, Don Williams, and Billy Sherrill.
